The Eberly College of Science, Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill one postdoctoral researcher position in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics. The successful candidate will participate mainly in the research program of Prof. Zhen Bi’s group involving the study of topological phases of matter and quantum phase transitions, as well as seeking possible materialization of these exotic physics. The individual will also be encouraged to interact and collaborate with local theoretical and experimental condensed matter groups. The ideal candidate should have experience with solid state materials, strongly correlated electron systems, and topological phases of matter.
Requirements include a Ph.D. in Physics. Applications must be submitted electronically and include a cover letter, CV and statement of research interests. Applicants should arrange for three reference letters to be submitted to physicsapply@psu.edu indicating the appropriate job number in the subject line. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of re-funding. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until a suitable candidate is found.
Applicants must submit the Penn State electronic application to the Penn State system at https://psu.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/PSU_Academic/job/University-Park-Campus/Physics---Postdoctoral-Scholar---Theoretical-Condensed-Matter_REQ_0000008141-1
