The newly launched School of Cybersecurity and Privacy (SCP) at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) invites applications for several tenure track faculty positions at all ranks. The School is seeking outstanding candidates who will help define a new interdisciplinary field of cybersecurity and privacy that encompasses the technical, economic, behavioral, policy, legal and international relations aspects of the field.

We are interested in interdisciplinary research and emerging areas that push the boundaries of cybersecurity and privacy. We seek candidates in all areas who complement and enhance our current research strengths, such as cryptography, systems and software security, network and Internet security, microelectronics security, hardware security, cyber-physical system security, usable privacy and security, privacy and data protection regulation, the economics of security practices and standards, financial technology security and cryptocurrency, public policy in cybersecurity, the role of cyberspace and cyber power in international relations, digital media threats including mis/dis-information, election security, robust and adversarial machine learning, and security and resilience of critical infrastructures.

The School of Cybersecurity and Privacy, one of four schools in the top-ten ranked College of Computing, was formed in September 2020. It builds on the strong foundation and continued success of the cybersecurity research and education efforts at Georgia Tech that were started more than twenty years ago, and already includes innovative, multi-disciplinary faculty and research scientists. The goal of the SCP is to be an international leader in research, education, technology transfer, and societal impacts. Successful applicants will also have opportunities, where appropriate, for joint or shared academic appointments with other schools at Georgia Tech and collaborative research that spans disciplinary boundaries at Georgia Tech.

Georgia Tech is a top-ranked public research university situated in the heart of Atlanta, a diverse and vibrant city with multiple universities. Midtown Atlanta, where Georgia Tech is located, has been recognized as one of the 2016 Great Neighborhoods by the American Planning Association due to its liveliness, walkability, and many great cultural and economic strengths. The Institute is a member of the University System of Georgia, the Georgia Research Alliance, and the Association of American Universities. Georgia Tech prides itself on its technology resources, collaborations, high-quality student body, and its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Georgia Tech is an equal education/employment opportunity institution dedicated to building a diverse community. We strongly encourage applications from women, underrepresented groups, individuals with disabilities, and veterans. Georgia Tech has policies to promote a healthy work-life balance and is aware that attracting faculty may require meeting the needs of two careers.

Applications will be considered until open positions are filled. For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to submit their applications by December 15, 2020. Applicants are encouraged to clearly identify in their cover letter the area(s) that best describe their research interests. All inquiries should be sent to scp-recruiting@cc.gatech.edu
