The Medium Energy Physics Group at Duke University is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Associate in Research to focus on simulation studies of semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering (SIDIS) process for the proposed Solenoidal large intensity device at Jefferson Lab involving both polarized 3He and NH3 targets and including the latest development on the quantum electrodynamics radiative effects to extract transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions. The Associate in Research will also perform simulation studies for SIDIS measurements at the future electron-Ion-Collider including studies of the relevant particle identification and the detector studies. The individual will also participate in and contribute to other ongoing research activities of the group. The position is for the period of January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021.
