General Information 

Chapman University School of Pharmacy (CUSP) is the first ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy in Orange County, California. The Department of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at CUSP seeks applications from highly qualified candidates in the area of pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, novel drug delivery systems, or related areas to join its faculty as a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor beginning August 2021. The successful applicant will participate in the delivery of the Department’s professional and graduate programs and advance its rapidly growing extramurally-funded research programs. The department currently employs faculty with research interests in drug discovery and development, pharmacology, structural biology, drug delivery, pharmacokinetics, and social and administrative sciences.

CUSP offers PharmD and MS/PhD in pharmaceutical sciences programs that address the challenges in the field of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. Located on the Chapman University Rinker Health Science Campus in the beautiful Orange County, California, the school is rapidly growing in all areas of basic and translational research, innovative teaching, and pharmacy practice. The newly remodeled campus consists of modern-designed classrooms, research laboratories, core facilities, and vivarium equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.   1. A Ph.D. degree in the area of Pharmaceutical / Biopharmaceutical sciences with at least two years of relevant postdoctoral experience. Candidates with Pharm.D. and Ph.D. degrees will be given priority consideration. 
  2. Research expertise in the areas of nanomedicine, biopharmaceuticals, drug delivery, and/or candidates with biopharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience. 
  3. Excellent record of teaching, publication, and evidence of potential for success in securing extramural research grants. 
  4. Candidates for the rank of Associate Professor must have substantial documented teaching and research experience, including active transferrable grants, commensurate with the rank. 

The successful applicant is expected to teach in the Pharm.D. and MS/Ph.D. programs, mentor professional and graduate students, develop and/or maintain a strong, extramurally-funded research program, and participate in the service activities of the department, school, and university.
