The Department of Theoretical Physics at the University of Genoa invites applications for a two year postdoctoral position starting in the fall of 2021. The group currently features Andrea Amoretti and Paolo Solinas as senior members.
We seek applicants interested in the project “Schwinger effect in superconductors: paving the way to electrically controlled superconductive devices”. The project sits at the boundary between theoretical high energy physics and condensed matter and focuses on high electric field effects in superconductors. Ideal applicants would either be experts in theoretical methods for superconductivity or theoretical high energy physics applied to condensed matter systems. The successful applicant will be expected to devote the majority of their research time to the topic. Applications from candidates with a theoretical/high energy physics background interested in condensed matter are warmly encouraged.
The gross income for this position is around 33.000 € per year, corresponding to a net salary comparable to an entry level staff position in Italy. The candidate will be an employee of the University of Genoa and receive the typical benefits.
Applications should include a CV, list of publications, summary of research interests, and three letters of recommendation, submitted at AJO. Preference will be given to applications received by December 30, 2020 but later applications may be considered until the position is filled. |
