Faculty Appointment in Human Genetics and Genomics at the New York Genome Center

The New York Genome Center (NYGC) invites applications for a Core Faculty Member position in all areas of human genetics or genomics. We encourage applicants who seek to develop innovative approaches to generate and interpret human genetic and genomic data, understand the functional consequences of genomic variation, develop new methods in statistical or population genetics, discover the genetic underpinnings of clinical phenotypes, and/or advance personalized and precision medicine. The candidate's research interests should be synergistic with the highly collaborative environment at NYGC, including our diverse Faculty, Technology Innovation, Computational Biology, and Sequencing Labs. Core Faculty Members are encouraged to interact and collaborate across the New York research community, and appointments at NYGC are typically coupled with a tenure-track faculty appointment with one of our Institutional Founding Members (, which will be negotiated during the recruitment process. 

The NYGC Faculty comprises an exceptional group of primary basic science faculty with research interests spanning human genetics, computational biology, functional genomics, single cell analysis, neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disease, cancer genomics, and genome engineering ( Current faculty hold joint appointments with departments at NYC-area institutions such as Weill Cornell Medical College, Columbia University, New York University, and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. 

Candidates must hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree, and have an outstanding research record. Applications should include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a description of previous research and future research plans (up to 3 pages total), reprints of two publications, three letters of reference and a statement of how they have and will support diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in science (1 page).
