The Board of Electors to the Professorship of Mathematical Physics invite applications for this Professorship from persons whose work falls within the broad framework of quantum field theory, including particle physics, mathematical physics, and quantum gravity.
The Professorship of Mathematical Physics is one of a handful of named chairs within the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics and the successful candidate will be expected to take on a leadership role within the theoretical physics group. They will have an outstanding research record of international stature in quantum field theory, and the vision, leadership, experience and enthusiasm to build on current strengths in maintaining and developing a leading research presence. They will hold a PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification and most likely already hold a tenured (or equivalent) position.
