The Multi-Dimensional Atomic Imaging Lab at Department of Physics, KAIST (webpage: http://mdail.kaist.ac.kr/) is looking for a post-doctoral candidate to study the 3D atomic structure of non-crystalline systems utilizing atomic resolution electron tomography.

Our group works at the research frontiers on atomic-level structural studies, with atomic electron tomography as the main tools. The successful candidate will have access to a state-of-the-art electron microscope (Double-corrected TITAN) as well as various computational resources available on campus, and the there will be plenty of opportunities to collaborate with external groups over the world. This project unifies efforts in a wide range of experimental and computational areas like aberration corrected electron microscopy, electron optics, tomographic algorithm development, signal/image/3D volume data processing, machine learning and solid state/materials physics. Candidates with experience in these areas are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

-A PhD in physics, materials science or related area. -Proficiency in one of the following: transmission electron microscopy, non-crystalline/disordered material system, signal/image/3D volume data processing, scientific programming, machine learning. -Good technical writing, communication and presentation skills. -Willingness to learn and collaborate across different scientific disciplines in a fast-paced research environment.
