|The School of Politics and Global Studies at Arizona State University seeks candidates for a tenure-track appointment at the assistant professor level (Job Order 10159) in Political Science in the areas of political participation, political parties and democratization. The position is in Comparative Politics. The position is open with respect to methodology and regions of the world, with the exception of Western Europe. The successful candidate will teach courses in Comparative Politics, conduct research, and provide service to the School and students. Desired start date: August 16, 2013. |
Required qualifications: candidates must be able to demonstrate rank- appropriate experience in research and teaching, ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate classes in Comparative Politics and in their substantive fields of focus, and have a Ph.D. in political science by the time of the appointment. Desired qualifications: promise of excellence in research in Comparative Politics; promise of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; promise of ability to generate external funding; evidence of a theoretically driven and methodologically sophisticated research agenda; and ability to teach advanced graduate methods.
