The Department of Sociology at Boston University invites applications for a tenured Associate or Full Professor to begin July 1, 2022. We seek a colleague with an innovative research agenda and teaching interests in race/ethnicity. Subfields are open and we are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to one or more departmental strengths including culture, economic sociology, gender/sexuality, global/comparative, health, law and crime, migration, race/ethnicity, and urban sociology. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching on race and ethnicity, will mentor graduate students, and will teach courses on theory and/or methods. The candidate will build bridges with other relevant units across the university including but not limited to the African American Studies Program; Howard Thurman Center; Initiative on Cities; School of Global Studies; School of Public Health; School of Social Work; and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality (WGS) Program.
