Postdoctoral Positions in Synthetic Biology and Metabolic Engineering
The laboratory of Dr. Ting Lu (http://lulab.bioen.illinois.edu/) in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in microbial synthetic biology and metabolic engineering.
The position is offered to work in microbial synthetic biology, an interdisciplinary research field that focuses on the design, analysis and construction of genetic regulatory networks for cellular functionality reprogramming. Potential areas of research include gene circuit engineering in single cells, microbial ecosystems engineering and metabolic engineering.
Ideal candidates for the position should have extensive experiences in molecular cloning and DNA assembly for microbes. A Ph.D. in biological and related sciences is required. Experiences in yeast genetic engineering, lactic acid bacteria engineering, or microbial metabolic engineering are a plus but not necessary.
Salary is commensurate with skills and experience. The initial appointment is for one year and can be extended up to three years upon mutual agreement.
Interested candidates should send their curriculum vitae and the name and contact information of three referees to Dr. Ting Lu (email: tinglu.uiuc@gmail.com) |
