The Cabeza lab at Duke University is looking for an Associate in Research. This position will be for a term of one year and can be extended if funding is available. This candidate would hold the lab manager title within the Cabeza lab.
duties in this position include the following:
• Assist with research projects
o Test participants in behavioral, fMRI, and TMS studies
o Write code for behavioral paradigms (e.g., e-Prime) and fMRI analyses (Matlab, SPM, FSL)
o Analyze different types of data (e.g., behavioral, fMRI, MRI, DTI, TMS)
o Generate results (tables, images) for presentations and publications
o Contribute to the writing of manuscripts
o Present results at lab meetings and conferences
o Generate ideas for new projects and lead new projects
• Assist with lab administration
o Help hire undergraduate research assistants (RAs) and train them in basic lab procedures and policies
o With the help of RAs, recruit and schedule participants and update participants' database
o Coordinate IRB approval and renewals, and collect information required for grant and IRB renewals
o Help with grant writing, editing, proofreading, formatting, and submission
o Administer petty cash; keep track of receipts; validate MRI billing; order equipment and supplies
o Organize lab meetings; update website and online calendar; provide secretarial support to Dr. Cabeza
