Senior Lecturer of Education Leadership 

Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development 

 

The Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development invites applications for a full-time Senior Lecturer of Education LeadershipWe seek an individual with substantial leadership experience within PK-12 school systems to support the training of future school system leaders within the college’s masters and EdD program. We are seeking a colleague who shares our commitment to building equitable and just education environments, and who can expand our partnerships within Boston and other school systems that serve diverse student populations.

Education Leadership faculty teach primarily graduate-level courses, advise students, and provide service to the college and university. The successful candidate will also serve as a liaison with local and national accreditation agencies and will work in collaboration with department faculty to grow our leadership programs, including through activities related to student recruitment and building institutional partnerships.  

 

This Senior Lecturer position begins no later than September 1, 2021. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Applications from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Earned doctorate in Education Leadership or related field 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Extensive successful experience as a senior level PK-12 leader, preferably as a superintendent, and preferably in an urban setting 
  • Experience teaching in higher education, especially at the graduate level
  • Experience and commitment to data-informed decision-making 
  • Deep network from which to recruit potential students and develop institutional partnerships
  • Record of achievement in closing opportunity and achievement gaps
