The Duke University English Department welcomes applications for a distinguished fiction writer with a national or international reputation for a one-semester position as Visiting Artist/Professor of the Practice of Creative Writing. 

We seek candidates who are committed to the teaching of undergraduates. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD, have published at least two major works of fiction as well as creative non-fiction, and have experience in teaching both creative work and creative nonfiction, especially journalism. Candidates should be committed to engage with the literary and intellectual life of the English department, which includes public readings and lectures, as well as faculty workshops and/or working groups. We are especially interested in Kenyan writers. 

This position begins January 1, 2022 and ends April 30, 2022. Residency in Durham, North Carolina is required, as is proof of full Covid-19 vaccination.
