Lecturer

The Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell is seeking candidates for a Lecturer position during the period August 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021 with the possibility of renewal.

The responsibilities will involve collaboratively developing course content for a new introductory course to support the Human Biology Health and Society major and co-teach this course for the first offering during the fall 2021 term; analyze the existing academic programs in the Division of Nutritional Sciences with the Division Director and Director of Undergraduate Studies including specific analyzing of the Global Public Health Sciences and Nutritional Sciences majors in preparation for a curriculum review and an external review of the Division.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Epidemiology, Community Nutrition, Food Science, or related field
  • A least 2 years’ experience teaching undergraduate courses in higher education including developing a course from inception to delivery. 
  • Specific experience in courses that integrate across biological, social and environmental factors to study health outcomes in human populations. 
  • Ability to work with a team of instructors to develop and deliver course content. 
  • Proficient in data analysis and programming of registration data to produce reports for review. 
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
