Position Overview: The Women’s and Gender Studies Department at Merrimack College invites applications for a one-year, full-time, non-tenure track faculty position beginning August 30, 2021.

The position, which may be renewable, carries a four-course teaching load per semester, primarily focusing on our two gateway courses for majors and minors, Introduction to Gender, Race, and Sexuality Studies and Introduction to Race and Ethnic Studies. There may also be an opportunity to teach upper level electives in the successful candidate’s areas of expertise. We are especially interested in candidates whose work is both interdisciplinary and intersectional. Preferred areas of specialization may include one or more of the following: feminist theories, LGBTQ+ studies, queer theories, race and ethnic studies, media/film studies, global gender issues, and transnational feminisms.

The person hired for this position will join a supportive and growing department that, in addition to the WGS major and minor, plans to add a new minor in Race and Ethnic Studies. Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Women’s and Gender Studies or related field, as well as evidence of successful teaching and scholarship.
