Position Description: |
The Physics Department of the Ecole normale supérieure, with the support of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), invites applications for an ENS-MHI five-year chair in Quantum Information, starting 2022. The successful candidate will be integrated in the Physics Department as a full-time Professor. She/he is expected to carry out research in the general area of quantum information theory, in particular quantum algorithms, error mitigation, error correction and quantum cryptography, quantum communications and quantum many-body simulation. A focus on hardware problems, ranging from solid state platforms (e.g. spin qubit, superconducting qubits, topological qubits) to atomic and optical platforms, all pursued experimentally in the Physics Department, as well as connection to experimental aspects will be appreciated. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and are expected to demonstrate an outstanding track record, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
