Position Summary
Michigan State University invites applications for a postdoctoral position on the South Pole Telescope (SPT) Experiment, with additional work on the forthcoming CMB-S4 project. The recently-deployed (2018) SPT-3G receiver will provide maps of Cosmic Microwave Background intensity and polarization with unprecedented sensitivity at small angular scales, enabling a wide variety of science, in particular the measurement of the properties of light relativistic particles such as neutrinos in the early universe. MSU plays a leading role in the SPT experiment in data analysis and participates in the project at all levels.
The successful applicant will work in the research group of Prof. Nathan Whitehorn. The position will include analysis of data from the SPT-3G receiver recently deployed to the telescope, as well as forecasting and pipeline development for the forthcoming CMB-S4 project.

Required Degree
Doctorate -cosmology, particle astrophysics
Minimum Requirements
Applications will be considered from Ph.D. physicists and astronomers with strong backgrounds in cosmology, particle astrophysics, particle physics, astronomy and related fields.
