The candidate will work primarily on projects in pipeline infrastructure design, CO 2 capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), joining the Subsurface Flow and Transportation team and collaborating with scientists as well as external industrial and academic partners.

You will focus on development of computational techniques with applications to challenging real-world problems primarily related to CCUS but potentially to energy production, climate change and environmental contamination management. You will be expected to publish results in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present your work at conferences. The term of the appointment is two years, with the option to extend to a third year depending on performance and funding availability.

Minimum Requirements: • Ph.D. in STEM field within the last 5 years • Publication in peer-reviewed journals • Excellent communication skills as evidenced by publications and oral presentations at conferences Desired Qualifications: • Familiarity with pipeline infrastructure design, CCUS, oil and gas production • Experience in computational methods such as optimization and machine learning • Familiarity with multi-phase flow in porous media and fluid flow in pipelines • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Julia We Are Delivering Scientific Excellence Los Alamos National Laboratory is more than a place to work.
