Assistant Professor Position Opening
in the
Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry in the School of Arts and Sciences at Brandeis University is seeking a creative individual for a tenure-track faculty position in experimental physical chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in academic year 2022/2023. The ideal candidate will be an expert who combines physical-chemistry methods development with timely applications to renewable energy, materials, or biological problems. The successful applicant is expected to establish a vigorous externally funded research program and be an enthusiastic teacher at the undergraduate and graduate levels, in courses such as honors-level general chemistry, quantum mechanics, or thermodynamics. The course load is one course per semester. Duties also include undergraduate and graduate student research supervision as well as university and departmental service.

The Brandeis Department of Chemistry is part of a vibrant and interactive scientific community. A research-intensive liberal arts university, Brandeis fosters highly collaborative science both within and between departments. The campus is located in Waltham, MA, the heart of the Rte. 128 biotechnology corridor and 20 minutes from Boston and Cambridge.
