The Department of Microbiology in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at Cornell University has ten active research laboratories that focus on molecular and environmental microbiology. It serves as the home Department for the Graduate Field of Microbiology (with more than 40 affiliated faculty members) and provides a center for instruction related to numerous aspects of microbial biology. What You Will Do
As a Lecturer, you will teach up to two laboratory courses (enrollment of 100) and freshmen or sophomore-level discussion courses. You will provide students with the study of the basic principles and techniques of laboratory practice in microbiology and the fundamentals necessary for further work in the subject. Topics include microbial cell structure and function, physiology, metabolism, genetics, diversity, and ecology. The teaching assignment may change to meet the needs of the curriculum.Your responsibilities include:
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) 12-month academic-year appointment. This is a three-year appointment with possible extension depending on funding and performance.
