Open postdoc position at BAQIS – Ultrafast Optical Spectroscopy Group

BAQIS Introduction: To tackle grand challenges in quantum science and technology, Beijing Municipal Government established the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS) in 2017 with co-founders among top research institutions including Tsinghua University, Peking University and Chinese Academy of Sciences. Its mission is to address pressing issues in the field of quantum information and to shape the quantum future through research excellence. BAQIS strives to provide a stimulating working environment that fosters creativity and encourages risk-taking, collaboration and efficacy. BAQIS has made substantial investments for strategically important research areas with quantum communication as one of its core focuses. It owns two state-of-the-art platforms of experimental facilities accessible to all its researchers: a cleanroom for micro-nano fabrication and a synergetic test platform.

About the Group: Research interests of the Ultrafast Optical Spectroscopy Group include theoretical and experimental studies of exciton polaritons, topological lattices, and their quantum computing applications. The group is looking for young and dynamic postdoctoral fellows, who will be interested in one of the following topics: theoretical exciton polaritons, topological polaritons, quantum optics and quantum simulators. Fellows will be closely working with the experimental colleagues from the group of Professor Qihua Xiong. Additional knowledge of quantum computing and quantum neural networks will be an advantage.

About the position: Number of openings: 2 postdoctoral fellows Fellows will be responsible for conducting theoretical modelling of exciton polariton systems; providing mean-field simulation of exciton polariton lattices; and developing quantum optical models of quantum neural networks. It will be encouraged to conduct independent research, read scientific literature and keep up-to-date with developments in the field. It will be very important to work together with colleagues performing exciton polariton experiments and develop theory towards understanding the new experimental results.

Expertise in at least one of the following topics is preferable: Exciton polaritons, light-matter systems and nonlinear optics Topological polaritons and non-Hermitian skin effect Quantum optics Quantum computing and quantum simulation Machine learning applications in physics

Requirements: 1.PhD from a reputable university 2.Track record of peer-reviewed papers in top journals 3.Experience in the modelling of exciton polaritons 4.Experience in calculating topological properties in optical systems 5.Experience in simulating quantum dots, qubits or quantum spin systems

Compensation and Benefit: 1.Competitive salary 2.Enroll in Beijing Social Insurance System 3.Family medical plan 4.Subsidized employee canteen

Application: Applicants should provide a Curriculum Vita, a research statement and at least 2 recommendation letters to qihua_xiong@tsinghua.edu.cn and copy sanjibghosh87@gmail.com.
