The particle theory group at Caltech invites applications for a postdoc position is particle astrophysics, cosmology and direct detection of dark matter (including the connection to novel condensed matter systems). Information on the vibrant and diverse theory community at Caltech is available at https://www.theory.caltech.edu and https://burkeinstitute.caltech.edu. For full consideration, please also apply to the Burke Fellowships in Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics: https://applications.caltech.edu/jobs/burke. The position will be partly funded through a QuantISED initiative on "New Ideas in Dark Matter Detection"; see http://www.kzurek.theory.caltech.edu.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantum field theory and particle astrophysics, and will be interested in exploring new directions related to dark matter and its detection. The appointment requires completion of a PhD and is expected to start as early as September 2022 with competitive compensation and significant research travel support. The initial appointment will be for one year with expected renewal for two additional years. To apply, please upload to AJO a CV, publication list, and short statement of research, and have at least three letters of reference uploaded by December 1, 2021.
