Assistant Professor (a joint position with LBNL) Nuclear Astrophysics/Fundamental Symmetries Theory Department of Physics

The Physics Department at the University of California (UC), Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) are conducting a joint, open search to fill a tenure-track faculty position for an Assistant Professor in Nuclear Astrophysics/Fundamental Symmetries Theory with UC Berkeley and a Staff Scientist position at LBNL. We seek applicants from all related areas of the field: nuclear and neutrino astrophysics, fundamental symmetries, many-body theory including lattice QCD and quantum computation, high energy nuclear physics including the Electron-Ion Collider, and other emerging areas.

UC Berkeley Physics strives to make all physicists feel welcome and included at all stages of their careers. Applicants are invited to learn about our department and its mission to remove barriers to entry and strengthen pathways into physics. The department is committed to addressing the family needs of faculty, including dual career couples, single parents, and candidates who have had non-traditional career paths or who have taken time off for family reasons.
