The School of Health Sciences at Merrimack College is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated full-time non-tenure track faculty and Graduate Director to join the School. This is a 12-month position as an open-ended academic appointment with additional administrative responsibilities. The position start date is immediate.

Position Overview: Responsibilities as a faculty member will include teaching of at least four courses per academic year, advising and actively participating in departmental and school service opportunities that cultivate community relationships and raise the profile of the School of Health Sciences’ graduate programs. Leading graduate strategic recruitment and growth initiatives and retention of graduate students are the primary responsibilities of the Graduate Director. Operational management of the School’s graduate fellowship program is also part of the Graduate Director’s responsibility. The Graduate Director would work collaboratively with the Program Directors, Department Chairs, Dean and other administrators to coordinate the academic and operational functions of the graduate programs.

Qualifications:

1. An earned doctoral degree in exercise science, health science or a closely related field. 2. University teaching experience is preferred. 3. Knowledge and understanding of graduate program administration 4. Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication and interpersonal relationships. 5. Understanding of and experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion issues in graduate education and beyond. 6. We are looking for individuals who have a strong desire for an academic appointment focused on advancing knowledge through the integration of teaching and experiential learning. The ability to serve as student mentors and create immersive learning and professional development experiences is necessary.
