SCU's Leavey School of Business invites applications for an assistant or associate professor position (tenure-track) in the OMIS Department that begins Fall 2013. The position requires teaching undergraduate business and MBA courses, scholarly research resulting in peer-reviewed publication, and service to the university and profession. We seek an individual to provide leadership for our undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and data science, which will entail teaching of core and elective courses and overseeing the curriculum in these areas. Opportunities to teach operations management, management science, or related electives can be arranged depending on candidate interest and department need. The department is open-minded about research interests, although the potential for collaboration will be higher for candidates working in operations and supply chain management, retail, services, e-commerce, or information systems. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant specialty (or have completed all required Ph.D. coursework and can provide an estimate of dissertation signoff date).
SCU is a private Jesuit university located in the heart of Silicon Valley. The OMIS Department teaches core and elective courses in our undergraduate business program, evening and weekend MBA programs, and Executive MBA program. Our Operations Management faculty publish in outlets such as Management Science, MSOM, OR, and POM, and currently hold or have held senior editorial positions at these leading journals.
The university is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer and welcomes applications from women, persons of color, and members of historically under-represented U.S. ethnic groups.
