The particle and nuclear theory group at the Physics Department of the Technical University Munich (TUM) foresees an appointment (salary scale TvL E13) at the postdoctoral level.
We seek candidates with a strong track record in Effective Field Theories for the Standard Model and beyond, QCD at finite temperature, Dark Matter and Early Universe, perturbative calculations, Lattice QCD calculations.
The particle and nuclear theory group is lead by Prof. N. Brambilla and Prof. A. Vairo.
The interests of the group span over a wide range of topics in particle physics phenomenology and
effective field theories (quarkonium, heavy quarks, X Y Z exotics, precise calculation of
SM parameters, strongly interacting systems), in physics of the early Universe (dark matter, leptogenesis) and in physics of heavy ion collisions (quarkonium and jet suppression) and nonequilibrium physics. We deal both with perturbative techniques (high order loop calculations) and nonperturbative methods (Lattice QCD).
For more information on the group research activity see the web page http://einrichtungen.ph.tum.de/T30f and http://einrichtungen.ph.tum.de/T30f/research.html
The research activity will be performed also inside the Excellence Cluster group "Origins"
(https://www.origins-cluster.de/) established in Munich, the Quarkonium Working Group (www.qwg.to.infn.it), the DFG SFB "Symmetries and Emergences of Structure in QCD", in collaboration with Bonn University and Chinese research institutions, and the Focus Group on "Effective Field theories and Lattice" at the Institute of Advanced Studies of the TUM.
Review of applications will start immediately and will proceed up to when the position has been filled. The starting date of the appointment is Fall 2022. Term of position is 2 years, prolongation
to a third year may be possible subject to funding. |
