Job description: 
We are opening a female-only lectureship within the School of Physics at The University of Sydney in the field of direct dark matter detection. This opening is part of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Dark Matter Particle Physics initiative. Outstanding candidates with additional expertise in experimental low energy physics and neutrino physics will be considered very favourably. The opening is for a junior physicist (lecturer/level B) though other outstanding candidates will be considered too. 

 Essential criteria: 
  •  A PhD in particle/astroparticle physics. 
  •  Experience working with international experimental collaborations.
  •  A strong background in leading and publishing high quality experimental particle/astroparticle physics research. 

 Desirable criteria: 
  • A strong track record in the field of direct dark matter detection. 
  • Excellent track records in high energy physics and/or other astroparticle physics fields will be also be considered relevant. 
  • Ability to develop and test novel experimental ideas.
  • Capacity to secure research funding. 
  •  Strong collaborative links to existing dark matter experiments.
