Postdoctoral Associate 

Position Description: This position is to develop innovative statistical methods to detect treatment effect heterogeneity by using multiple data sources from randomized clinical trials to electronic health record data in the application of mental health (schizophrenia and major depressive disorder) under the supervision of Dr. Hwanhee Hong at Duke University. This project will use methods for meta-analysis, adaptive borrowing across multiple datasets, and personalized medicine. The primary statistical framework that will be considered is Bayesian but not limited to. This project is a collaboration with a research team led by Dr. Elizabeth Stuart at Johns Hopkins University. The selected candidate will have opportunity to learn new statistical methods, develop methodology, lead to both collaborative and methodological projects, and write/co-author manuscripts for high-quality peer-reviewed journals. In addition, this position will have many opportunities to collaborate with other interesting relevant projects within the Department or Duke Clinical Research Institute. 

Qualifications: Candidates must have the following: 
• A doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or related fields with solid training in statistical methods and biomedical research. 
• Experience with Bayesian hierarchical modeling and clinical trial data analysis
• Basic understanding about causal inference
• Demonstrated evidence of excellent programming, collaboration, and communication skills are required.
