Job Description:

Job Description The LSU Department of Physics and Astronomy is looking for a talented individual to work on experimental neutrino physics research. The neutrino group is actively involved in various leading-edge physics analyses and software development with liquid argon TPC detectors.

Responsibilities: The successful applicant will make significant contributions to physics studies (40% of effort), reconstruction algorithms and software development (30% of effort) in the MicroBooNE and SBND experiments. The applicant will also be involved in tests of cold-electronics or other hardware components of the DUNE far detectors (30% of effort). They will work with Professor Hanyu Wei and will also have a chance to relocate at Fermilab or BNL to work with the scientists and technicians there. Additional responsibilities include mentoring graduate students, publishing papers and presenting at conferences, domestic and international travels are expected. The senior postdoctoral applicant will be responsible for leading the efforts as above mentioned, supervising graduate student research activities.

Minimum qualifications:

Postdoctoral Researcher: PhD in physics, experimental neutrino physics or related field

Senior Postdoctoral Researcher: PhD in physics, experimental neutrino physics or related field; 3 years of related experience.

Preferred qualifications: Good programming capability, detector R&D experience, work experience on machine-learning algorithms.
