Assistant (or Associate) Dean for Student Success Programs & Strategic Enrollment Management

Georgia State University College of Law is seeking to hire a full-time Dean for Student Success Programs and Strategic Enrollment Management at the Assistant or Associate level, depending on experience. This is a full-time faculty position, at the rank of Academic Professional, reporting to the Dean of the College.

In an effort to accomplish the mission and goals of the College of Law, the Dean for Student Success Programs and Strategic Enrollment Management provides oversight for admissions, academic advisement and bar success, student life, and other non-academic student issues. In collaboration with the Dean and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Dean for Student Success Programs and Strategic Enrollment Management develops and executes a strategic and comprehensive student success and enrollment management plan to meet the College’s mission and goals to identify, recruit, enroll, retain, and graduate students.

The Dean for Student Success Programs and Strategic Enrollment Management has extensive internal and external collaborative relationships with a wide array of executive, academic, professional and administrative individuals across the University; develops important contacts and relationships with faculty, staff and students; and collaborates with academic and student services departments to contribute to the efforts of educating, serving and retaining students from diverse backgrounds. The position oversees the College of Law’s academic and bar support initiatives; oversees student life services and programming; oversees the Center for Professional Development and Career Strategies and Law Admissions; shares responsibility for the supervision of Law Enrollment Services as it relates to the assigned area of oversight; provides leadership and oversight of the student conduct system; and is responsible for education and adjudication activities including case management, documentation, and active and ongoing campus education related to student responsibilities and rights.

The Dean for Student Success Programs and Strategic Enrollment Management evaluates assigned programs and services to ensure adequate support for student populations, recommends additional programs and implements approved plans and policies to improve outcomes, operations, and services leading to student success; and collaborates with campus leaders regarding evaluation and assistance for College of Law students in crisis and provides guidance and oversight using a case management approach to facilitate student success.

The position also manages financial, human resources, and business services functions for areas of oversight; assists in formulating operational plans and manages departmental budgets. The possibility of teaching in the law school curriculum also exists for those applicants with relevant qualifications.

Applicants will have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school. Seasoned student affairs professional with more than five years progressively increasing responsibilities and administrative experience in student advising, student success programming and administration, and in teaching. Experience in enrollment management and admissions. Ability to work as part of an executive management team dedicated to collaboration, and in support of college goals of integrating instruction and student services as a way to create and maintain a supportive student-learning environment. Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
