Assistant Director/ Assistant Professor Pre-Dental Master’s Program Job Description The MS in Oral Health Sciences (OHS) program (bumc.bu.edu/gms/ohs) seeks an Assistant Director at the Assistant Professor level with a strong interest in graduate education and a background in mentoring. OHS is one of 33 doctoral and master’s programs at Boston University School of Medicine’s (BUSM) Graduate Medical Sciences (GMS). It is a one-year pipeline program designed to increase the number of students from diverse groups into the dental profession. The rigorous one-year program, developed in collaboration with BU’s Goldman School of Dental Medicine, provides students the opportunity to improve their academic credentials for dental school admission. The ideal candidate would be enthusiastic, have a commitment to education, scholarship and working in an inclusive environment that celebrates and welcomes diversity. Responsibilities as Assistant Director will include oversight of the Program’s academic components including admissions, registration & advising and thesis/capstone projects as well as directing and teaching several biomedical science courses. This is a full-time non-tenured faculty appointment in the Department of Medical Sciences and Education at BUSM to start July 2022. Minimum qualifications include PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field (Physiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, etc.) with demonstrated teaching, mentoring and advising experience with a passion for working with diverse students.
