|Stony Brook University, a campus of the State University of New York, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Judaic Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in Fall 2013.|
Applicants should have an active research program in Jewish history, thought, religion, or culture, preferably in the modern or early modern period and preferably focusing on Europe or the Middle East. Applicants should also be able to teach a range of courses on the Jews and Judaism. The successful candidate will be appointed in the department most appropriate to his or her area of specialization; possible departments include, but are not limited to, History; Sociology; Philosophy; European Languages, Literatures, and Cultures; Asian and Asian-American Studies; and Cultural Analysis and Theory. The ideal candidate will have completed the Ph.D. in a relevant field before September 2013.
