Brandeis University invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship. We seek a scholar of the Caribbean in the age of revolution, preferably with an emphasis on Haiti. The successful candidate will take a central role in the University�s 2013-2014 Sawyer Seminar, �Rethinking the Age of Revolution: Rights, Representation, and the Global Imaginary.� Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and directed by Professors Jane Kamensky (History) and Susan S. Lanser (Comparative Literature), this faculty seminar will explore the American, French, and Haitian revolutions in transnational and interdisciplinary terms. The fellow will receive a stipend of $52,000 and a research fund of $3000 and is eligible for University health and dental insurance. Ph.D. should be in hand by the commencement of the fellowship and preferably received within the past six years.
