Faculty Position in Dermatology at UMass Chan Medical School The Department of Dermatology

https://www.umassmed.edu/derm/ at University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School (UMass Chan), invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor position. We have a major interest in inflammatory skin diseases, with research teams led by John E. Harris, MD PhD, Professor and Chair in the Department of Dermatology. We embrace different experimental systems including human and patient-based translational studies as well as animal models to develop a mechanistic understanding of skin diseases in order to develop new treatments. Successful candidates will conduct innovative research to understand inflammatory skin diseases and develop novel therapies.

UMass Chan faculty are expected to engage in teaching, research and service, and the successful candidate will be expected to direct an externally funded independent research program as well as participate in graduate and/or medical education. Modern laboratory space will be provided in the Lazare Research Building and extensive core facilities are available on campus. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. (or equivalents), and a record of significant research accomplishments with the potential to lead an independent research program. Highest priority will be given to investigators with outstanding research programs that enhance our current strengths as well as demonstrated interest in improving diversity and inclusion in the life sciences. Successful candidates will also demonstrate strong communication skills and an ability to engage in collaborative research endeavors.
