The Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering invites applications for the position of
Chair of Artificial Intelligence for Cyber-physical Systems. We seek to recruit a Chair to provide
academic leadership and drive forward our research agenda, in an area of strategic importance for the University and Department.
We are looking for a visionary researcher, with a strong international reputation, world leading research publications and a strong track record of research funding in the following or related areas:
AI methodologies for design, optimisation, and operation of CPSs;
Applications of high-dimensional statistics to CPSs modelling and analysis;
Machine learning for estimation, forecasting, and optimisation of complex dynamical systems;
Cybersecurity and safety or Cyber-physical systems;
Advanced autonomy and cooperation with humans and other CPSs.
You will hold a PhD and be able to demonstrate an outstanding research reputation in the area,
evidenced by publication track record, grant capture and typical esteem indicators.
