Position description: A Cornell Initiative to bridge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Neuroscience invites applications for a mid-career-to-senior faculty position in the Dept. of Computational Biology (https://compbio.cornell.edu/about/computational-biology/). Candidates may use artificial intelligence and/or machine learning methods to understand brain computation or the neural basis of animal or human behavior. Individuals are expected to maintain a vigorous, externally funded, internationally recognized research program and to excel in undergraduate and graduate teaching programs. The hire is part of a larger Initiative in AI research at Cornell and the successful candidate should have a pioneering spirit and a track record of collaborative work and enthusiasm about bridging top-ranked systems neuroscience, neuroengineering, behavior, computational biology and AI communities established at Cornell (https://ai.cornell.edu/).

Qualifications: A PhD in neuroscience, computational biology, computer science, behavior, physics, or a related field and a primary interest in understanding behavior and neural data through the development and use of computational, statistical and/or machine learning methods. Postdoctoral experience with a demonstrated record of post-PhD productivity is required.

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills.
