The Department of Physics at the University of Milano-Bicocca
invites applications for a three-year researcher position (RTDA) in
Theoretical Physics starting in the Fall 2023.
Particular emphasis will be given to candidates mastering theory and precision
phenomenology of fundamental interactions, especially
concerning physics at colliders and Monte Carlo event
simulations. The researcher is expected to teach courses
for the Physics degree, at either the Bachelor or Master
level (42 hours/year). Deadline for applications is November 13th.
The research interests of the Theory Group at Milan-Bicocca & INFN cover a wide variety of subjects including Collider Phenomenology, Lattice QCD, String Theory, Statistical Physics, and Cosmology.
The Phenomenology group has 3 faculty members (Alioli, Oleari, Re), 5 postdocs and 3 PhD student. The main research lines focus on higher-order calculations, shower Monte Carlo and resummation. Close collaboration exists with the local CMS and LHCb experimental groups and with the Phenomenology group at the University of Milan.
The salary range for the position is competitive with European standards. A generous travel allowance is also foreseen.
