The Informatics Department at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) – an R1 university - invites applications for the position of Department Chair. The successful candidate should demonstrate academic leadership skills necessary to create the conditions for faculty and student development in a thriving research environment and will lead the continued expansion of the Informatics Department within the Ying Wu College of Computing. The college and department have strong connections with local industry and work closely with many corporations through student Capstone projects, internships, and joint R&D projects. NJIT has recently expanded its graduate programs, including those of the Informatics Department, to a modern and futuristic satellite location in Jersey City, just across the Hudson River from the financial district of Lower Manhattan in New York City, where it serves the vast pool of working professionals in the region.
