The Lee Teng Undergraduate Internship in Accelerator Science and Engineering is a 10-week program, jointly run by Fermilab and Argonne National Laboratory, to attract students into the exciting and challenging world of particle accelerator physics and technology. A limited number of highly qualified students will be selected into this program. Successful candidates will attend the Summer Session of the U.S. Particle Accelerator School (USPAS) to be held June 5-16, 2023, in Melville, Long Island, NY, sponsored by Michigan State University. All will take the Fundamentals of Accelerator Physics and Technology with Simulations and Measurements Lab for which 3 units of undergraduate credit is available. Interns will then work closely with a mentor on a research project at either Fermilab or Argonne National Laboratory. During the program, interns will also tour research facilities at Fermilab, Argonne and the University of Chicago and receive guidance on building graduate school applications. At the conclusion of the program, interns will summarize their research and present their projects at a joint research symposium.
