Position Description: |
Associate in Research Microphysiological System Characterization and Testing. The Associate in Research will work on a project to study the use of skeletal muscle microphysiological systems to model autoimmune disease. Specific responsibilities include isolation and culture of skeletal muscle myoblasts, preparation, and monitoring of microphysiological systems, functional measurements of engineered muscle, measurement of reactive oxygen species, analysis of gene expression using RT-PCR and protein levels using Western blotting, and data analysis. Prerequisites include experience with cell culture techniques, and analysis of muscle function. The Associate in Research will present results at lab meetings.
