Position Description

The Department of Romance Studies at Duke University is seeking a qualified instructor in Portuguese for a one-semester, non-renewable appointment for Fall 2023. Qualifications requested for candidates: ABD or PhD in second language acquisition, applied linguistics, language pedagogy, or related areas. This is a part-time position (1 course) with competitive salary and benefits. We seek candidates with a demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum design, a proven ability to work effectively in teams, and a strong interest in working with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds. Please submit a CV, cover letter, 2 letters of recommendation, and teaching portfolio (statement of teaching philosophy, teaching evaluations, and sample syllabi or original teaching materials).
