Department of Neurology invites applications for a non-clinical faculty member to join the Vascular Neurology & Stroke Division directed by Dr Wayne Feng. We are searching for talented investigators to fill this faculty position. Appointments will be at the level of the instructor with an expectation that the position will be filled by an early-stage investigator who would start his/her independent career at Duke. The candidate is expected to be at the completion of fellowship or post-doctoral training.
Ideal candidates will be employing behavioral tools, and/or neurophysiology tools(such as EEG, TMS, fNIRS, etc) and/or Neuroimaging tools to better understand the post-stroke motor recovery in both upper extremity and lower extremity. In addition, the candidate should also develop or utilize neuromodulatory tools( such as TMS, tDCS, ultrasound stimulation or light stimulation) to modify and enhance the post-stroke motor recovery process. Candidates with research interest in other post-stroke complications including language, swallow and cognitive impairment can also be considered. Candidates, once hired, will be expected to mount a productive and innovative research program, obtain extramural funding, and actively participate in graduate student, neurology residents, stroke fellow, and postdoctoral fellow education. Candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., M.D. & Ph.D., DPT, or equivalent degree(s) in but not limited to neuroscience, biomedical engineering, Engineering, rehabilitation science.
