The Boston University Department of
Anthropology invites applications for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor
position in Sociocultural Anthropology, starting September 2023. The
position entails teaching 2 courses each semester, one of which would be AN 101
Introduction to Sociocultural Anthropology.
The other two courses would be a course on Ethnicity and Identity,
Anthropology of Religion, and/or Culture, Society and Religion in South Asia. The
applicant is expected to have an active research program and to participate
fully in the academic life of the department, including helping to advise
undergraduate and graduate students, attending lectures and symposia, and participating
in department colloquia. Applicants should have a Ph.D. completed by the start date, an active research program and a strong record of teaching excellence.
