A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Howard
A. Rockman at Duke University. The focus of the laboratory is to understand
the molecular mechanism and physiological function of G protein-coupled
receptor (GPCR) signaling in the context of cardiac disease. Overall goal of
the laboratory is to identify new GPCR ligands that have therapeutic potential
for cardiovascular disease. Projects involve affinity-based screens of DNAencoded
small molecule libraries to identify receptor allosteric modulators,
functional characterization of identified compounds on receptor pharmacology,
cellular signaling and in vivo cardiac physiology. This is an excellent
opportunity to participate in an exciting research program, work highly
collaboratively with top GPCR researchers in the field, and gain broad range
expertise in multidisciplinary in vitro and in vivo systems including protein
purification, protein and cell-based assays and in vivo cardiac physiology in
animal models.
