The Office of Creative Inquiry and the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science
(RCEAS) at Lehigh University invite applications for a dynamic interdisciplinary teaching
position with a significant emphasis on experiential learning. This is an open-rank, non-tenure
track position. The successful candidate will hold a primary faculty appointment in the Rossin
College with the home department determined based on the candidate’s academic
background. The secondary appointment will be in the Office of Creative Inquiry. Candidates
must hold a minimum of a Masters degree in engineering, engineering education, or related field
with 1-5 years of relevant experience . The successful candidate should have a genuine interest in collaborating with and mentoring
undergraduate students to conduct and publish original research, pursuing extramural funding,
and advancing entrepreneurial projects that address sustainability challenges. This person will
be expected to create opportunities for broadening participation and support an inclusive and
equitable educational environment in which a diverse student body can thrive. They will lead the
transformation of the first-year engineering curriculum by integrating project-based learning and
other active pedagogies into the core courses. They will also mentor interdisciplinary student
teams in the Impact Fellowship programs offered by the Office of Creative Inquiry that advance
multi-year research and innovation-driven projects focused on sustainability and sustainable
development on Lehigh’s campus and beyond. The successful candidate will in addition to
teaching and mentoring teams, the candidate will be expected to engage in professional service
at the university, college, program, and discipline levels. This is a 12-month position with the
summer term focused on first-year curriculum development and mentoring Creative Inquiry
teams (primarily based out of Mountaintop campus). The initial appointment will be for three
years and is renewable at the end of that period subject to a positive professional review. Candidates should submit the following: 1) Cover letter that addresses qualifications and past experiences for this position. 2) Curriculum vitae, specifically highlighting publications and conference presentations with
undergraduate students. 3) Teaching Statement that describes instructional philosophy and how the candidate has
incorporated (or will incorporate) experiential learning and creative inquiry into their academic
courses or work experience. 4) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) statement that describes prior DEI experience and a
