Position Description: |
POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR, Earth Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences. The postdoctoral scholar will analyze soil, vegetation, and atmospheric data to help understand and quantify conditions leading to the development of severe convective storms. We prefer the candidate to have experience with atmospheric dynamics, and thermodynamics, atmospheric convection, and soil and vegetation physics.
Job Requirements: Ph.D., in atmospheric or climate sciences, physics, or a related field by the date of hire. Strong physical, mathematical, and computational background. Expertise in atmospheric and/or soil modeling. Experience with programming in at least one general purpose language. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
This is a two-year position. The start date is flexible, but preferably between 1 October 2023 and 1 April 2024. The successful candidate must have completed all PhD requirements by the start date.
