The Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University (Durham, NC) invites applications for the position of an Executive in Residence with the Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Technology.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee management of complex research projects from federal agencies;

• Oversight of experimental validation of technologies developed in research program;

• Assist in supervising student researchers;

• Serve as liaison with military clients for technology validation;

• Assist with launch of military innovation programs at the Pratt School of Engineering;

• Write research proposals and progress reports;

• Communicate research outcomes to sponsors including attendance at program reviews.

Qualifications:

• PhD degree in physics or engineering (or equivalent)

• 10 or more years of experience leading major-scale research projects and programs

• Extensive experience with working with the US military (preferably USMC/Navy)
