BRiDGE Overview:

The Bridge is an incubator that provides lab space to startup companies, and is located at the Chesterfield building in downtown Durham. https://sites.duke.edu/bridge

Job Description:

• Develop and maintain a new simplified database for equipment management. This database will include equipment manuals, standard operating procedures, maintenance contracts, etc.
• Review and update resource information (equipment inventory, vendor contacts and service histories, SOP’s, etc.)
• In physical BRiDGE space: organize designated areas, identify and label equipment in use and equipment not in use, test and identify non-functioning equipment, check BRiDGE mail weekly and distribute to company mailboxes
• Communicate with internal and external vendors and BRiDGE company representatives
• Participate in regular check-in meetings with BRiDGE leadership
• Assist in developing surveys, marketing materials, and maintenance of BRiDGE website content

This is a part-time position, up to 10-15 hours per week.

Desired Skills / Traits:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Must have reliable transportation to the BRiDGE space (Chesterfield building).
• Highly organized, independent, and confident self-starter
• Ability to work effectively in continuously changing environments
• Knowledge of or interest in creating databases and systems
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
