The Department of Physics at the University of Genoa is currently seeking applications for two or more a two-year postdoctoral research scholar position in the research group led by Prof. Andrea Amoretti. The positions are expected to commence as soon as possible, preferably in December 2023. The anticipated net salary for these positions is approximately 2000 euros per month, which is comparable to the salary of an entry-level permanent researcher in Italy. The research group consists of one postdoc and two PhD students, along with Prof. Paolo Solinas and Prof. Nicodemo Magnoli. The group's research interests lie at the intersection of theoretical condensed matter physics and high-energy physics, with a focus on areas such as superconductivity, hydrodynamic description of strongly correlated electrons, and the application of AdS/CFT correspondence to condensed matter physics and Conformal Field theory methods applied to the description of critical phenomena. The group actively collaborates with experimental groups in Italy (including Pisa) and Europe (such as Dresden). Candidates with a background in either theoretical high-energy physics or theoretical condensed matter physics, who are interested in joining a vibrant research group and expanding their research interests, are encouraged to apply. Interested candidates should submit an application that includes their Curriculum Vitae, a description of their previous research experience, and their current research interests. Additionally, they should arrange for two letters of recommendation to be submitted. Applications should be sent through Academic Jobs Online using the provided link. Priority will be given to applications received by July 30, 2023, but applications received thereafter will also be considered in the event that the position is still open.
